FEATURE #002

This is the SECOND in a continuing MONTHLY feature highlighting the ingredients and thought behind each of our amazing products.  This time let's focus on LAVENDER!

CALM LAVENDER SUPREME CREME

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE:

This is natural lavender essential oil.  If you are a lavender fanatic, you will love this scent.  I am very particular about my lavender and this one is for real lavender lovers!

WHAT’S IN IT:

SHEA BUTTER  is made from the NUT of a tree that grows in Africa.  Though technically a tree nut, it is VERY LOW in the proteins that trigger allergies and there is no known medical literature documenting any allergy to shea butter (when applied topically).   It has a high concentration of fatty acids such as: linoleic, oleic, stearic and palmitic acids. These fatty acids (oils) when applied topically, are rapidly absorbed into the skin.  They restore lipids and create moisture.  This moisture barrier protects your skin from the drying elements in our environment.

Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and healing properties. It has significant levels of Vitamin A and E which promotes anti-oxidant activity.  Anti-oxidants are important in terms of anti-aging.  They protect your skin cells from free radicals that can lead to premature aging of the skin.

Shea butter also contains triterpenes.  These naturally occurring chemical compounds are believed to deactivate collagen fiber destruction which may minimize the appearance of fine lines.

Shea butter is also great for treating bug bites, burns, acne and rough and dry patches of skin.

VITAMIN E helps support the immune system, cell function, and skin health. It's an antioxidant, making it effective at combating the effects of free radicals produced by the metabolism of food and toxins in the environment. Vitamin E may be beneficial at reducing UV damage to skin.

ALOE VERA contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory. It can help treat burns, acne and dry skin.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE:

This product (though we call it "Supreme Creme") is much more like an ointment.  The 2 oz jar should last for many months.  You only need a very small amount and it goes a LONG way.

USAGE:

I use this product daily.  I put it under my eyes before bed and after waking.  I also use it with a gua sha tool.  It can be used in your hair (I like to use it in my eyebrows as they say it helps hair grow!)

The most amazing experience I had with it was when my husband and I both burned our fingers putting something into the oven together (long story). I used the supreme creme, he did not.  My burn healed in a couple of weeks leaving no scar and without bleeding,  his.... well, let's just say it took a long time to heal and didn't look very good and he was sorry he didn't use the supreme creme (though I did suggest it several times!)  Men!  ;)

PREVIOUS FEATURES

FEATURE #001

This is the FIRST in what I hope will be a MONTHLY feature highlighting the ingredients and thought behind each of our amazing products.  I want to start with what has been the MOST POPULAR for the last several months:

ORANGE VANILLA WHIPPED BODY CRÈME

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE:

I spent quite a bit of time on this one.  The first version didn’t capture the true ORANGE scent I was after.  I really wanted it to smell like a 50-50 popsicle without being too sweet.  Based on customers’ reactions, I think we nailed it!  It’s a scent I NEVER get tired of.  Just delicious!  I know you will enjoy it.

WHAT’S IN IT:

SUNFLOWER SEED OIL is a great source of vitamin E, rich in nutrients and antioxidants, and is effective for combatting skincare issues like acne, inflammation, general redness and irritation of the skin. Sunflower oil has emollient properties that help the skin retain its moisture.

SHEA BUTTER has a high concentration of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body, especially your face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin.

MILK PROTEIN is a substantive film-former that immediately increases skin hydration but also improves the skin's moisture retention with repeated use in rinse-off applications. It prevents dry skin caused by surfactants while protecting skin and improving skin feel.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE:

What we were aiming for with this product was a super decadent crème that was THICK and RICH, but was easily absorbed into the skin.  This make is the perfect moisturizer for the morning, after showering or bathing and before getting dressed.  It will make your skin feel soft and hydrated throughout the day.
